That's it, that's the limit, I must say it.
Every now and then you hear about new applications and features coming from the the brightest minds seating between the ice cream fridge and the plasma screens in any google site.
This time it's the feature Sky in Goole Earth.
As a sailor, I have a lot of sympathy to Astronomy. I think my generation is the last generation of sailors that really learned and practiced how to set a n Astronomy fix on a marine chart. I remember digging books full of numbers and tables, running my fingers over calculators to try and predict where I should expect to find the star Altair and in what inclination.
Then right before the dawn or after the sunset, wondering on board with sextant in my hands asking myself "Where is the star Altair?" or "Where is the star ...?".
these days are long gone. On my last sailing trip in the open seas we simply took 3 GPS receivers for any case and forgot about the sextant, astronomy tables and the question "where is the star...?".
Googlers, Practically you are about 2 decades late.
There is a very good source of information to answer the questions that are currently bothering people... It is called the google search statistics (AKA Google suggest) right under your nose.
when typing: "Where is the..." it suggests the following.

And I'm asking myself... what does the brightest minds of the world are doing with their free 20% of the work week? why don't they solve the problems men really asking themselves.
here are my conclusions:
1. better check the ice cream in Google sites - and the affect of it's overuse on men.
2. developers in Google earth are all women.
3. is it the symptom of - we know what you are missing - we don't need you to tell us.
So I think I will compete Google sky with application "vaGina", Let's see who will get more traffic.
