Last Friday, ohh what an afternoon.
There were brilliant conditions for surf-paddling.
You better ask, "What the hell is surf paddling?" well it is simply surfing with your Kayak on the waves.
Just to demonstrate here is a photo of Yossale, our club's instructor, ridding the surf.
Anyway, last Friday, there were nice wave of I think 3-5 feet. and very nice braking on the reefs on Sdot-Yam.
Me and Mickey, who considered as the bad boy of the paddling club, went out to catch some surf.
the conditions were indeed great, we were surfing and playing with the waves for quite a while. The sky were cloudy enough to give a fantastic light over the sea.
Then it occurred, when trying to go against the surf, back into the water, a breaking wave hit me right in the face, scrambling me in the water.
a little check of all my gear, showed that my kayak was floating away to the shore, my hat is off, and worse of all, I've lost one lens of my sun glasses.
Shit, such lens of optical sun glasses cost at least 700 NIS.
I had to walk all the way back to the club, looking like a one eyed pirate.
when I was about to go home, right before the dark, mickey told me:
"Neptune took his fee!!!"
Seems like at sea, you have to pay for the good conditions you get.
This morning I went paddling again, the sea was flat as a mirror.
Nice doing business with you, Neptune.
